Soft skills in particular also play an important role in this job description. Communication skills are very much in demand on a day-to-day basis, because SAP administrators are often in close contact with customers and have to respond to their wishes and questions. They also need the ability to work in a structured manner and to find creative solutions and decisions. Continuous training in the field is advisable in order not to lose touch.
In order to cope with the digital transformation in general, but also to cope with the changing demands on the SAP basis and its scope of responsibility, it is necessary to revise existing roles and define and establish new roles. These include the roles of the technology architect, new features of the Subject Matter Expert (SME), and the role of the Expert Team Lead in leading a group of experts. Performance optimization
In earlier product generations, databases from various third-party providers were used - primarily Oracle and Microsoft SQL. However, this has changed with the introduction of the new database generation SAP HANA.
Companies face a major challenge. The world is not going digital, but it is already. With "Shortcut for SAP Systems" a tool is available that greatly facilitates some tasks in the SAP basis.
