SWI2_DIAG Access to work item analysis (SWI2)
Why does a company need an SAP Basis department? [Using our company as an example]
A trick often used by administrators is to allow for time buffers before starting the next job. The buffer times are necessary because it is not possible to predict exactly how long a job will take to complete, since the duration depends on many incalculable parameters. Since it makes little sense to run backups and SAP jobs at the same time, these tasks are usually done one after the other rather than in parallel. In more complex environments, data backup durations, time buffers and job runtimes add up to such an extent that the time available is no longer sufficient to perform all activities within the available time corridor. Tools that work with status dependencies and then automatically start the next job when its predecessor job has been processed without errors can help here.

The positioning depends strongly on the previously identified target groups and must be justified accordingly. Positioning is extremely important for the SAP basis. It is primarily a matter of positioning within the IT organisation and defining or positioning the other IT departments that can be considered as competitors in the context of this step. STEP 6: OWN EMPLOYEES This step will identify the necessary skills and training of their own employees necessary to fulfil the objectives and provide the service. The necessary skills and roles for the SAP basis are explained in detail in the recommendation Skills & Roles.

SAP Basis ensures smooth operation of the SAP Basis system. The SAP Basis system is a kind of operating system of the R/3 system or SAP ERP. It includes the three layers database, application and presentation. In addition, Basis includes many SAP middleware programs and administration tools. With Basis SAP applications can be used compatible and independent of operating system and database and can be enriched with the necessary data.

Always the latest version: Your system will always be up to date and you will have access to the latest versions. Patches are performed by the external SAP Basis team.

"Shortcut for SAP Systems" is a PC application that simplifies or even facilitates many activities in the SAP basis.

We set about creating detailed playbooks for all common scenarios - installations, portals, upgrades and migrations - and platforms.
