Troubleshooting and support in case of occurring problems
SAP HANA has been one of the major topics in the SAP environment for the last few years. Many customers are currently faced with the question of whether or not to migrate your SAP system. In addition to the actual changeover itself, there are many other topics on which you should have already informed yourself in advance, as these influence the success of SAP HANA in your company. What do you already know about SAP HANA? I would like to encourage you to think about security in the following article. If you would like to learn about the architecture of HANA, I recommend a contribution from our colleagues at erlebe Software. SAP HANA Scenario But why are we even talking about HANA Security? Why is it so important to consider new security strategies with the new technology? With HANA it is possible to analyse data quickly. BW scenarios primarily benefit from the in-memory database (IMDB) used, as speed advantages in data access are particularly positive. Compared to a classic ERP / R3 scenario, the normal DB is replaced by HANA. The desired speed advantages result. However, migration is expected to be required for the changeover. This is caused by customer-specific developments in the system. HANA is not a further development of SAP ERP, HANA is the next stage of an ERP system. It is well known that an ERP system contains the capital of the companies. Therefore a new HANA system like all other ERP systems is also interesting for attackers. On the one hand, such a system contains the critical business data that are available for espionage. In addition, most business processes are mapped in such a system and offer an attack surface for sabotage. In addition, users do not initially know the new technology well. This also applies to administrators in the area of a new technology. Attackers quickly gain a dangerous leap of knowledge over these user groups. SAP HANA has a lot of new features, although many existing ones are used by SAP ERP, so there is a risk here.

Then go back to the Permissions tab to generate the current profile of the permission objects. Once you have completed these steps and secured the role, it has the necessary Fiori permissions to launch the OData service-related application.
Optimizations
Let me show you how EasyReCert can simplify this process. Automatic representation of employees & role assignment Each user of the application automatically receives the employees assigned to him. In the first step, the user verifies the assignment of the employees assigned to him. In the second step, the user is shown the roles of his employees. It is now possible to mark the assignment of the role as correct or incorrect. Understandable explanation of the roles Often roles have no talking names and for the decider it is not clear which specific permissions are behind a role. The tool offers the possibility to provide a description for each role, which is available by pop-in. Looking up which role has which permissions and which is meant for which is completely omitted. Flags & Criticality The tool offers in its options the possibility to set flags for critical roles and highlight them in particular. At a glance, the decision-makers see that one of their employees has a critical role and can examine it carefully. Since roles are classified differently in each company, you are completely free to decide which roles you want to consider critical. Roll Whitelist Do you want to exclude certain roles from the audit? Or do you want to test only critical roles? The tool offers you a whitelist function for this. This whitelist allows you to include roles that you do not want to check in the recertification process. So you completely decide which roles the tool should take into account. Logging of the results The results of the tests are logged via the application log and can be viewed both by SAP standard means and directly by the tool. It is also possible to export the audit logs or add optional comments to the logs later.

NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND INNOVATIONS The role of IT is changing (bi-modal IT). On the SAP basis, this new bi-modal organisation is particularly true. On the one hand, it is necessary to continue to ensure the SAP operation in the usual stability and security, and on the other hand, to act as a business innovator in order to fulfil the role as a technology consultant for SAP technology. ADJUST SAP basis NAMING The original definition and naming of the SAP basis no longer meets today's task. Therefore, it is recommended to give the SAP basis a meaningful and contemporary description depending on the future organisation form. For example, the bi-modal role listed in Recommendation [A1] should be taken into account.

For administrators, a useful product - "Shortcut for SAP Systems" - is available in the SAP basis area.

There are the following reasons that may lead to the termination of this step: CANNOT_GET_OBJECT_LIST: The Object List of a Support Package could not be found because the Support Package does not exist.
