Many users are looking for a suitable tool for better knowledge transfer, especially when it comes to establishing new standard business software in the company. But it is particularly time-consuming and burdensome to put together suitable learning aids at the same time, especially during the introduction of a complex ERP application system such as SAP's. Are you still planning traditional introductory training? Forget it. Online learning is needed. But what does it look like in practice? Shortly before the software launch, the support team will hold intensive training sessions for the users within the department. If the start date is delayed by a few weeks, users have already forgotten what they have learned and cannot use it in writing. Often it is still lacking in the current documentation of the processes, because until the rollout the processes sometimes change. We found a method to procure useful training material despite the introduction stress in the Ondemand Personal Navigator tool of the US company Ondemand Software.
SAP Business ByDesign is explicitly targeted at medium-sized enterprises. As a complete ERP solution, the system includes large parts of process optimisation. It is often difficult to keep track of them, especially at the beginning. Therefore, we are available as SAP partners for any questions and requirements.
SAP CERTIFICATIONS
All backbone connections to SAP will be switched from January 1, 2020, as SAP has announced on its support page. Afterwards, communication between ABAP System and SAP will only take place via secure HTTPS connections, for which a dedicated user must also be requested in the Support Portal. In all ABAP systems, SAP hints can no longer be obtained via SNOTE via the old OSS RFC connection. The shipment of Early Watch Alerts to SAP is also affected by this change. Here the shipping route must also be changed to the new HTTPS standard. There is also a great need for action for all SAP customers without a current SAP Solution Manager. In the future, SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SPS08 (SPS07 only with additional information) will be required here. For all older releases, communication with SAP will also be impossible from January 2020. This primarily affects the data in the Maintenance Planner, which are then no longer synchronised. This then indirectly affects all future maintenance projects where the use of the Maintenance Planner is indispensable. Especially with regard to upcoming S/4 HANA migrations, this represents a risk to be avoided.
For training in the rollout phase, the above documents and records proved very helpful. The tool has supported our SAP instructors in user training. The automatic documentation in Word serves as a training manual. Recorded processes are particularly useful for SAP transactions, because no one can remember all the transaction steps of a main process. All areas of work are directly accessible via a table of contents. To answer questions from SAP users not only orally but also in the form of screen recordings, key users and support staff can quickly "film" and publish the processes in question. The user can view both his input and the results in the Personal Navigator. This means that the errors are almost completely eliminated. There are also other offers on the market, but this tool has proven itself in practical use.
