Authorization roles (transaction PFCG)
Efficient SAP rollout through central, tool-supported management
There may be other objects associated with the site that you can also assign a PFCG role to. As in our organisation chart, you can assign three different PFCG rolls to the user. You can assign the PFCG roles to either the organisational unit, the post or the post. In this hierarchy, you assign the user as the person of the post. The user is assigned to the person as an attribute and therefore not visible in the organisational model. An HR structure could be mapped via this hierarchy. Since the PFCG roles are not directly assigned to the user but to the objects in the Organisation Management and the user is assigned to the PFCG roles only because of his association with these objects, we speak of an indirect assignment.

The user's access to this program is realized by assigning a role that contains the required transaction including the authorization objects to be checked. A role can contain a large number of authorization objects.
Risk: historically grown authorizations
However, the permission trace is a long-term trace that you can turn on using the auth/authorisation_trace dynamic profile parameter. This trace is user- and client-independent. In the USOB_AUTHVALTRC table, the trace supplements the permissions checks that were not captured before the application ran. This function can also be used for customer-specific developments. Now, go to the RZ11 transaction, enter the auth/authorisation_trace parameter name in the selection box, and click View. You will now get to the detailed view of the profile parameter with all properties and the link to a documentation. To turn the trace on, click Change Value and a pop-up window will open. Enter "Y" or "F" for filters here if you want to define a filter (see Tip 38, "Use SU22 and SU24 transactions correctly") and save your input. A warning appears informing you that the parameter value would be reset when the application server is launched.
