In order to provide user authorisation support, you often need their information. However, there is also the possibility to view missing permissions centrally for all users. If a user has a permission issue, a ticket is usually displayed at support. However, it is difficult for a support worker to understand permissions errors because they have different permissions and are often missing detailed information about the application where the permission error occurred. In practice, therefore, support staff often help themselves by asking the user to send a screenshot of the transaction SU53. Because this transaction shows the last failed permission check. In many cases, however, the information displayed there is not helpful to the permission administrator. You may have seen that a screenshot from the SU53 transaction shows a missing permission for typical base authorization objects, such as S_ADMI_FCD, S_CTS_ADMI, or S_TRANSLAT, but you know that your check has nothing to do with the actual permissions problem in the application. So you need the opportunity to see for yourself.

You will be aware that you do not necessarily have to move in the Customer Name Room when assigning names of PFCG roles and therefore have a lot of freedom. The only limitation here is that you may not use the namespace of the roles that are interpreted by SAP. First, you must agree on the form of the names. A fundamental decision is to define the language in which the PFCG roles must be maintained. Although this does not necessarily have an influence on the role name, since it is the same in all languages, you will certainly have descriptive elements in your role name. The role description and the long text are also depending on the language. It is therefore useful to start the roles in the language which is also used most frequently, and also to cultivate the descriptive texts first in this language. If roles are required in different languages, you can translate the texts.

In the SCC4 transaction, first check whether eCATT is allowed to run. Then start the SECATT transaction. As you get started, you can define and modify test scripts and test configurations. First, create a test script. Think of it as a blueprint or a flow rule for how to create new derived roles. The test script will contain your recording later. Give the script a talking name, such as Z_MASSENGERATION_DERIVATIVES. Then click the Create Object button. You will now go to the Attribute tab, where you specify the general frame data. Then click the Editor tab. Now it goes to the recording, in the eCATT language called patterns. Click the Pattern button and specify that you want to record the PFCG transaction by selecting the UIAncontrol and TCD (Record) settings. The system will propose to call the interface "PFCG_1"; You can simply confirm this. Confirmation of the dialogue will immediately start the recording; They therefore end up in the PFCG transaction. We want to record the creation of a single role derived from a reference role. Complete the appropriate steps in the PFCG transaction and try to avoid unnecessary steps - every step you take will make your recording bigger and less cluttered. Enter the name of the derived role - we can influence it later when playing with eCATT - and specify the role. Now assign the reference role. Note that the PFCG transaction is actually executed, so the role is actually created in the system! Now maintain the permissions and organisation levels. If possible, use organisational level values in the note, which you can find well in other numbers later on, i.e. about 9999 or 1234. After generating and saving the role, you will be returned to eCATT. There you will be asked if you want to accept the data and confirm with Yes.

When your selection is complete, just exit the image with the green button. You will now arrive at the Details Selector screen, where you can select the selection fields and the output fields (the List Field Selector and Selection Fields tabs) of your table combination. We select the authorization objects and values as selection and the role name, and the user as output fields. Done! Now the query can be started with the Run button. In the background, the system creates a programme that builds the join. As a result, a selection screen appears. Enter"S_TCODE"as object and"SCC4"as field value (we only have one field for this object). When you click Run, all users and the triggers are output to you.

Maintaining suggestion values via the SU24 transaction is useful if you want to reflect your own requirements or if the values provided by SAP do not meet customer requirements (see Tip 37, "Making sense in maintaining suggestion values").
