The SAP HANA Studio application is available for maintaining and assigning HANA permissions to users. The SAP HANA Studio is installed on your workstation. You can then log in to one or more HANA databases with the user and password. The SAP HANA Studio and HANADatenbank are currently subject to extensive further developments; Therefore, the respective versions of the SAP HANA studio must be compatible with the HANA databases to be connected. For this reason, we recommend that you check the information about the use of certain versions of SAP HANA Studio in the SAP Notes.
Since the maintenance effort would be too great if individual authorizations were entered in the user master record, authorizations can be combined into authorization profiles. Changes to access rights take effect for all users who have entered the profile in the master record.
Know why which user has which SAP authorization
Starting with SAP NetWeaver 7.31, the Security Audit Log enables the complete display of longer event parameters in messages. To do this, the maximum storage space for variables in messages has been increased to 2 GB. To play this extension, you need a kernel patch. If RFC function modules are called via RFC connections (for example, from an RFC client program or another system), an authorization check is performed on authorization object S_RFC in the called system. This check checks the name of the function group to which the function module belongs. If this check fails, the system also checks the authorizations for the name of the function module. Configure this check with the auth/rfc_authority_check parameter.
With "Shortcut for SAP systems" you can automate the assignment of roles after a go-live.
