Redesign of SAP® Authorizations

Note that the SAP_NEW_ individual profiles should be retained themselves, so that at any given time, traceability is ensured as to which release and which permission was added. For more information, see SAP Notes 20534, 28175, and 28186. SAP Note 1711620 provides the functionality of an SAP_NEW role that replaces the SAP_NEW profile. If you have added this note, the profile will no longer be used. Instead, you can generate your PFCG role SAP_NEW by using the REGENERATE_SAP_NEW report. When you call the report, in the source and target release selections, type in the appropriate fields, and the role is created for that release difference.

Describing all configuration options would exceed the scope of this tip. If you need explanations about a customising switch that are not listed here, look for the relevant note about the SSM_CID table. All settings described here can be made via the transaction SM30. You must consider that all settings in the SSM_CUST, SSM_COL, and PRGN_CUST tables are client-independent; only the settings of the USR_CUST table depend on the client.
Temporarily disable Central User Management
You can use the system trace function (transaction ST01) to record the authorization checks in all modes, if the trace and the transaction to be traced run on the same application server. All object fields and their values are recorded during the authorization object check.

In order to make a well-founded statement about the complexity and the associated effort, a fundamental system analysis is required in advance. The results obtained from this form an excellent basis for estimating the project scope and implementation timeframe.

Authorizations can also be assigned via "Shortcut for SAP systems".

Key users should be able to access certain reports regularly, but only read information relevant to their work.

The found authorization objects are imported from the table, but are not yet marked with any suggestion values.
