Automatically pre-document user master data
Authorizations in SAP systems form the basis for Identity & Access Management. They enable users to access the applications they need to perform their activities. Since functional and organizational requirements are subject to change, SAP authorizations must be regularly checked and reworked. This is the only way to ensure that processes are mapped securely and completely correctly from a technical point of view.

Make your IMG projects more secure. We show you how to create customising permissions for individual projects or project views, thereby limiting access. With the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG), there is a tool that allows you to customise your SAP system to suit your business needs. You can manage access to projects in the IMG via customising permissions and thus limit the user circle. You grant the members of an SAP project team the permissions they need to support the project. Below we show you how to create customising permissions by mapping to the IMG projects.

Similarly, SAP Identity Management version 7.2 SP 3 and above supports the installation of HANA users and the assignment of roles. You can also use Identity Management to add value to the business roles for creating a user with role assignment in the ABAP system and HANA database.

The permission check for the S_PATH object is performed as described only for files corresponding to a path with a permission group in the SPTH table. In our example, you should grant permission for the S_PATH object with the value FILE in the FS_BRGRU field to access files with the path /tmp/myfiles*. Note that the authorization object only distinguishes two types of access. These two values summarise the access types of the S_DATASET authorization object. The value Modify corresponds to the values Delete, Write, and Write with Filter; the value View corresponds to Read and Read with Filter.

During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.

It is often not known that the password rules also apply to users of the communication type.

In addition to these requirements, other settings can ensure that the transaction can be performed without verification: Verification of eligibility objects is disabled by check marks (in transaction SU24).
